The Town of Burgaw accepts employment applications anytime and will retain on file for a period of two years. Should you be qualified for an open position, your application will be considered and contacted if selected for an interview. Applications for a specific job opening received after the closing date may not be given the same consideration as those received by the closing date. Incomplete applications may not be considered.
The application process begins after the closing date. The interview panel reviews each application for qualifications, experience and education for the vacant position. The interview panel will choose the most qualified candidates and will schedule them for an interview. Once the position has been filled notification will be sent to all applicants.
The Town of Burgaw offers a competitive benefit package. As a town employee you may become a member of the Local Government Federal Credit Union. All town employees who are expected to work over 1,000 hours annually shall become a member of the Local Government Employees Retirement System. The employee is required to contribute 6% of their gross wages into the Retirement System. The town also participates in the NC Prudential Supplemental Retirement 401K Plan. The town contributes 5% of employee’s gross on all full-time permanent employees. The town provides Health and Life insurance at no cost to the employee. The town offers dental, vision and life insurance. The employee may cover dependents under the town’s insurance policy at the employee’s expense.
The town offers a voluntary supplemental insurance for disability, cancer, life and accident to all full-time permanent employees.
All employees, (full and part-time) are covered under the North Carolina Workers Compensation Act.
All full-time employees accrue vacation and sick leave according to the schedule below:
