Town Board of Commissioners Meeting Schedule

The Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners meets at 9:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the meeting room of the Burgaw Municipal Building located at 109 North Walker Street in Burgaw.

The meetings follow a posted agenda which includes a consent agenda, public forum (brief public comment period), public hearings, old business, new business and a comment period from the Attorney, Manager, Mayor and Board of Commissioners.

If you desire to address the Board during the public forum time, you must arrive at the meeting before 9:00 a.m. in order to sign in with the Town Clerk. The sign in sheets are removed from the table at 9:00 a.m. in order for the mayor to call on you at the proper time. Public Forum speakers are limited to three (3) minutes.

The agenda deadline for the regular board meeting is 9:00 AM the first Tuesday of each month. If you have an item you wish to bring before the Board you must make contact with the Town Clerk prior to the above deadline in order to receive instruction on submitting items for the agenda.

In addition to the regularly scheduled meetings, there are also elected official committee meetings held on an as needed basis. Please see the elected official’s committee list if you need further information.

Planning Board Meeting Schedule

The Town of Burgaw Planning and Zoning Board is a citizen advisory board that reviews planning and zoning issues. These citizens, who are appointed by the Town Board of Commissioners provides recommendations for Town Board action. The Planning and Zoning Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Burgaw Municipal Building located at 109 North Walker Street in Burgaw.

All applications, fees and other required items must be submitted to the Town of Burgaw Planning Administrator ten working days prior to the second Thursday of each month in order to appear on the Planning Board agenda.

Board of Adjustment Meeting Schedule

The Town of Burgaw Board of Adjustment is a citizen quasi-judicial board that receives testimony and renders judgments on requests to vary from Town ordinances. Board of Adjustment meetings are open to the public, however, public input is restricted to sworn testimony. The Board of Adjustment meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month on an as needed basis.

All applications/petitions, fees and other required items must be submitted to the Town of Burgaw Planning Administrator. Upon receipt of all required documents, the Planning Administrator shall cause a Board of Adjustment hearing date and time to be set.
