1. Who can I contact
with questions regarding my property taxes?
The Town of Burgaw
contracts with Pender County to bill and collect our personal
and real property taxes. Any questions should be directed to
the Pender County Tax Office at 910-259-1222.
2. I am a new vendor
of the town. When can I expect payment for my services and/or
products?
The Finance Department pays open invoices every week. If you have a concern about a payment, please contact Cindy Jones at 910-259-2151 ext. 3007.
3. I am interested in
buying surplus property. Where do I place bids?
The Town of Burgaw
utilizes GovDeals to sell its surplus property via an online
auction. Their website is
www.GovDeals.com. The town will advertise in local papers
when surplus property becomes available. If you do not have
access to a computer, Pender County Library has computers that
are internet accessible available for use to the public, free
of charge.
4. If I default on a
bad debt to the town, what measures will they take to recover
their funds?
The Town of Burgaw
participates in a program called the NC Debt Setoff Program.
This program allows local governments to send bad debt
information to the state. If the person that owes money to
the town is due a state income tax refund, their refund will
be reduced by the amount owed and then the town will recoup
their funds.
