Arbor Day Celebration
Join the Town of Burgaw in celebrating Arbor Day on March, 16th 2018 with a dedication ceremony at the newly named Pecan Park starting at 10am. A bare root tree seedling giveaway will directly follow the dedication ceremony for Burgaw residents. (Must present valid Burgaw water bill with the arbor day sticker.) This year's tree species includes Chickasaw Plum, Sounthern Crabapple and Coastal White Oak. There is a limit of 1 tree per household. Please note: Species availability is subject to change without notice and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tree giveaway will be from 10am-1pm (or until trees run out)
Easter Egg Scramble
Bring your baskets and join in the fun at the community Easter egg hunt! There will be several different hunts for various age groups. This is a free event sponsored by the Town of Burgaw and Pender County’s Parks and Recreation. Ages 1 – 10 are welcome! The 2018 Ghost Walk will be on Friday October 12th and Saturday October 13th. Stay tuned for show times and ticket information.
Mountains to Sea Trail in a day
On Saturday September 9th hundreds of people will be walking, hiking, or paddling parts of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail as it will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary. Part of the trail goes through Burgaw. Please click on the link below to be apart of the walk!
Burgaw Boo Bash
Dance to the monster mash, meet and greet an Owl, and join in on a number of spooky activities. Children are encouraged to come in costume and bring a treat bag. No scary costumes will be allowed. This is a free event sponsored by the Burgaw Parks and Recreation Department. Please no children over age 12. Thursday October 26th 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the Burgaw Train Depot.
Polar Express Movie Day
The Burgaw Parks and Recreation Department would like to invite you to a free showing of The Polar Express at the Burgaw Train Depot. Come in your pajamas and bring your blankets for an afternoon of fun. There will be cookies and hot chocolate available during the event. Doors will open at 2PM and the movie will begin at 3PM. Tickets are required for entry and can be picked up at Town Hall, canned food donation is requested.
